Utopia is absolutely stunning. It boasts contrasting purple and green foliage that will complement other landscape gardening plants in the Foliage First range.

Utopia will be an attractive feature for all gardens adding thrilling colors to any landscape or garden. Prefers free draining soils, or raised areas if the soil is heavier.

Utopia has stunning contrasting colors amongst its foliage, which sporadically twists and turns providing a unique look for gardeners and landscapers. One of the most attractive features of Utopia is that not only does it look amazing it is relatively easy to maintain; a relief for many gardeners.

 

Description: An elegant clumping, ornamental Australian Flax with distinctive blue and purple foliage. Grows to an average size of 20 in. tall by 20 in. wide, with graceful flower stems reaching over 3 ft. in height.

Utopia's foliage has overtones of red mixed with blue green and purple strewn throughout its foliage.

These photos show how unique Utopia's foliage is. Utopia's foliage is a landscapers dream as not only is it a low maintenance landscaping plant, but it looks great too. Utopia will often last 2 to 3 years before pruning is required.

Uses: Can be used for small scale mass planting, foliage or accent grassy gardens, adding a unique color perspective to any garden.

Position: Tolerates a wide variety of climatic conditions. Full sun to part shade. Very hardy, drought and frost tolerant.  Zone 9

Care: When planting ensure that the base of the plant is not covered with mulch or soil. Plant in a well mulched garden. Fertilize with a slow release fertilizer after two months, and then only if required. Remove older leaves as required to keep the plant looking good. For a better foliage specimen, remove flowering stem before flowering. Once established do not water too much.
